Shadow Work

Lately I've been asked about "Shadow work" and how do you do it!

So I'll start by saying that the word "shadow work" is really hyped up, and really made to be this big thing that is big and scary and well its not, its not pleasant but... its really just something we do anyway as part of growing up and maturing. Its the moments we have realisations, or a change of perspective when we look back at something we've been doing one way, and we finally see it another way...


Yes there is a way to do this consciously and forcefully, and that can be quite a full on process, but really it is just feeling and then accepting your pain. Its embracing your perceived flaws, the things you're ashamed of.. the things that hurt... your insecurities, your fears, your anxiety.. its seeing those things, its allowing those things to be a part of who you are.. and then making a conscious effort to be aware enough to start changing them, of integrating these things with new changed patterns of behaviour..

The tricky part is getting to a place in which you are aware enough to be able to actually identify the "negative" patterns or beliefs that we are playing out..

I say negative lightly, because really its all just experiences that we have to go through.. So then is it really negative if it ultimately helps us grow into the best versions of ourselves (there's a bit of the paradox of life to think about)…

Eventually you get to a point where you actually look for the things that trigger you in order to work out the cause.. to heal and integrate that part of you either further or to start with...

I say further because there's layers, and layer's to healing..

Eventually you stop crying or feeling pain for something that felt like it shattered your soul.. (not possible, your soul is always whole and beautiful... its your mind that thinks your broken)..

It's important to start the journey down the rabbit hole if you are on the path to find inner peace, its well worth the effort.
